BrandSource Majap Distribution Goes National

8/27/2012 12:38:12 PM Eastern

Las Vegas – BrandSource is now offering nationwide distribution of major appliances through its Expert Warehouse fulfillment centers.

The effort, two years in the making, allows the buying group’s dealers to combine small orders across multiple majap brands to save freight charges and reduce excess inventory, while also taking advantage of factory-direct pricing and promotions.

Nationally available brands include Electrolux, GE and LG, while Whirlpool majaps are available regionally. Additional white-goods brands available through Expert Warehouse are expected be announced at BrandSource’s national convention here this week.

BrandSource first added majaps to its in-house distribution network in 2010, starting with 900 SKUs in the Northeast, and began the national rollout on April 1.

Owned by BrandSource and fulfilled by Ingram Micro, Expert Warehouse operates distribution centers in California, Illinois, Tennessee and Pennsylvania, and offers “just in time” delivery service that fulfills orders in three days or less.

“Carrying less inventory can have a very positive impact on financials, and many retailers today are working toward zero inventory,” said BrandSource CEO Bob Lawrence. “By expanding our appliance assortment and offering fast delivery, members can free up cash to invest in other best practices like marketing, website development or advertising.”
