GoPro Adds Entry-Level Hero

San Mateo, Calif. — GoPro today released a new entry-level model of its flagship Hero action camera line that adds a touch display and in-camera video trimming.
The Hero+ LCD captures 1080p video at 60 fps and takes 8-megapixel stills.
The new touch display, built directly into the camera’s waterproof housing, allows easy shot framing, settings control and access to the all-new in-camera video trimming feature.
Waterproof to 131 feet, the Hero+ LCD also includes HiLight Tagging, which lets a user mark key moments while recording and during playback, making it easier to find them later. The video trimming feature allows the user to create short clips in-camera for easier sharing without a computer.
Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connect the Hero+ LCD to any GoPro app-enabled smartphone or tablet for content sharing.
“Hero+ LCD illustrates that even as we push the limits of life capture with bleeding-edge devices like the Hero4 Black, we’re also focused on delivering accessible, high-quality capture solutions to anyone wanting to GoPro,” said Nick Woodman, founder and CEO.
It will retail for $300 and ships on June 7 in the U.S.
