Rockleigh, N.J. - Creston added new options to its Prodigy
line of home-control gear,
which uses wireless control signals and a software setup wizard to bring the
company's brand to lower-priced installations.
New in-wall lighting controls and dimmers are the P-DIMEX wireless
wall dimmer at a suggested $800 for a package of six, and the P-SWEX light switch,
also $800 for a package of six. They replace existing models.
The $135-suggested P-LDIMEX lamp dimmer and $135 P-LSWEX lamp
switch plug into existing electrical outlets to deliver wireless control of
connected table lamps. They're the first such products in the Prodigy line.
A new PMC2+ package consists of the existing Prodigy home
theater/media controller bundled with a PTX3 wireless color touchpanel remote, which
replaces a similar model being discontinued. The PTX3 wireless touchpanel
retails separately for a suggested $585.
Other products in the line include a thermostat, a wireless
in-wall multizone audio keypad (which connects to a home electrical wiring for
power), a wireless repeater that plugs into electrical outlets, and a gateway

The line also includes more traditional multizone audio
components, such as an AM/FM/XM tuner due in May;
an iPod interface; and a four-zone, six-source 8x50-watt multizone
amplifier that sends speaker-level audio via wires to custom-installed speakers
in other rooms. The amp is expandable to 12 zones.
