Miami - Interead, maker of the Cool-er e-reader, said it will begin offering wireless e-readers using Wi-Fi and AT&T 3G service in mid-2010.

The Cool-er e-reader will go wireless in mid-2010.
Cool-er currently offers a non-connected e-reader, launched in May at $249, which will be sold by QVC on Dec. 11.

AT&T also powers other e-readers, including Amazon's Kindle, Sony's Readers and the upcoming Plastic Logic Que.

Glenn Lurie, president, emerging devices and resale, AT&T mobility and consumer markets, said, "We're seeing tremendous demand for e-readers."

Interead also today announced a partnership with NewspaperDirect to make available more than 1,300 newspapers and magazines from around the world to Cool-er e-readers.

The Cool-er has a 6-inch E Ink screen, SD card slot and MP3 player. It works in any country, said Interead, and comes in eight colors. It supports more than seven languages as well as the most common e-book formats.
