Nyne To Launch Media Center At CES

Las Vegas —Nyne Multimedia will go to January’s International CES here with the Smart Media Center, which represents a new category for the company.

The company specializes in speakers that reproduce music from smartphones and tablets.

The $2,495 SMC-1000 Smart Media Center, shipping in the second quarter, is a TV credenza that packs a 400-watt three-way 2.1 speaker system, FM tuner, smartphone and tablet connectivity, HDMI switching, and two covered shelves to store a TV set-top box, game console and the like.

The cabinet also docks with Apple devices that use Apple’s 8-pin Lightning connector, and it features Apple AirPlay, stereo Bluetooth, three USB ports, three HDMI inputs, one HDMI input/output, one TosLink and one digital coaxial input, two 3.5mm aux inputs, touch-sensitive control panel, white LED display and digital clock.

The product’s wood matte-black cabinet measures 39 inches wide by 29.5 inches deep by 31.5 inches high.

Two other new products include the N-29 docking clock radio at a suggested $169. It features 8-pin Lightening dock to charge and play music from docked iPods, iPhones and iPads. It also features 3.5mm stereo aux-in, stereo Bluetooth, AM/FM tuner with six presets, S-video output, dual acoustic-suspension speakers, and dual alarm to wake up to Apple devices, FM, or alarm tones. It ships at the end of April.

The $149 NB-240 is a portable AC/DC stereo-Bluetooth speaker with Bluetooth hands-free, 3.5mm aux-in, dual 3-inch drivers in bass-reflex enclosure, digital signal processing to improve sound quality, carrying handle, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and built-in microphone with advanced noise-cancellation. It ships at the end of April.
