Emotiva Readies 1st CEDIA Demos

Emotiva Audio will exhibit this year at CEDIA for its first time.

The company intends to demo several of its newest products, including the RMC-1, an A/V processor that supports 4K Ultra HD video and Dolby Atmos and DTS-X audio.

CEDIA will be held Sept. 5-9 in San Diego.

Carrying a $4,999 suggested retail, the RMC-1 features 16 channels with an all-analog preamplifier section, 32-bit AD/DA conversion and a 4K UHD video-management system. It has eight HDMI inputs, and dual HDMI outputs support 2.0 and HDCP 2.2.

Support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X surround sound (7.3.6 channels) is available, with a decoded audio signal for each channel that is processed by a separate AKM Verita 32-bit DAC. Support is provided for native audio decoding of single- and double-rate DSD digital audio signals, said Emotiva, accepted from either HDMI or USB sources. Auro 3D is supported with an optional license.

When asked why the company is choosing CEDIA this year, Walter Schofield, global strategy VP for Emotiva, told TWICE: “Our focus is on making Emotiva products available wherever our customers prefer to buy them, and where it just makes sense from a practical standpoint. CEDIA is an important forum for introducing our products to dealers and installers on the front line in the CI channel.”

CEDIA will also mark the first time Emotiva demos its BasX A-5175 five-channel power amplifier ($799).
