Denon Details New Wireless Multiroom-Audio Products

Mahwah, N.J. — Denon revealed the pricing and availability of the next wave of products to its Heos line of wireless multiroom-audio products.

The D+M Group brand plans mid-August availability of the $349-suggested Heos Link, which adds Wi-Fi-based multiroom-audio capability to existing stereo systems. It will be joined by the $449-suggested Heos Amp, which brings HEOS functionality to any pair of passive speakers.

The new products join a trio of recently shipped single-chassis amplified Heos speakers, all with Wi-Fi. They are the $299 Heos 3, $399 Heos 5, and $599 Heos 7.

Heos systems use iOS and Android controller apps on smartphones and tablets to direct music to Heos devices from the mobile devices, from networked sources, and from USB sticks and USB hard drives plugged into a Heos device. The controller apps also stream Cloud-based music services throughout the house.

The Heos Link incorporates a stereo preamplifier, Wi-Fi receiver and outputs to connect to a stereo system. The outputs come in analog, digital coaxial and digital optical form. Heos Link also features subwoofer pre-out and optical digital and analog inputs. The Heos app not only controls the Link but also any Denon networked AVR, integrated amplifier and mini-system connected to the Link.

The Heos Amp features a 2×100-watt Class D stereo amp to drive passive loudspeakers to drive in-room or custom-installed speakers. It offers the same inputs and outputs as the Link.
