ATI Expanding Auro To More Brands

Montebello, Calif. — Amplifier Technologies Inc. (ATI) plans to integrate Auro-3D surround decoding into preamp/processors marketed under the Theta Digital, ATI and B&K brands, ATI and Auro announced.

Theta previously announced plans for Auro on two preamp processors, which also include Dolby Atmos surround decoding. Both are also upgradable to add DTS:X surround.

B&K preamp/processors will also get the surround trio, said ATI sales and marketing VP Jeff Hipps. The company currently isn’t shipping B&K components and didn’t say when new models would hit the market. A ship date for ATI-brand product also wasn’t released.

ATI acquired B&K Components in late 2010 and resumed shipments for awhile starting in July 2011.

The Theta products with Auro and Atmos are new versions of the Casablanca IVa and Casablanca V music and cinema controllers. The 11-channel Casablanca IVa will support Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 and Auro 3D configured as 5.1 channels plus 5.1 height channels, the company said. It will continue to offer Dirac Live 96K digital room correction and Theta’s proprietary Jitter Jail II. It ships in the second quarter at a suggested $17,995.

Theta’s $21,995 Casablanca V doubles the number of channels to 24 and adds an HDMI 2.0 4K capable video card with 8 in and 2 out. It ships in the fourth quarter.

ATI also owns the Audioaccess and BGW brands.
