Richmond, Va. - Circuit City and its creditors have apparently cleared the way to settle claims from the chain's 20-month-old bankruptcy filing.

According to the Richmond-Times Dispatch, the two sides ironed out their differences over how the creditors will be paid during a court-ordered mediation session last week.

A final hearing date to approve the plan is expected to be set in September.
