Synnex, New Age To Sell iRiver On

Greenville, S.C. — Synnex and its New Age Electronics division said it will be the key distributor of iRiver, the creator of the smart exercise headset the iRiver On.

A Bluetooth audio headset powered by PerformTek Precision Biometrics, the iRiver On is equipped with state-of-the-art sensor technology that continuously measures real-time biometric data, including heart rate, physical location and workout data, with a high degree of accuracy and consistency while the user listens to music or answers phone calls, Synnex said.

The iRiver On is available to retailers through New Age. The product strengthens Synnex and New Age Electronics’ growing wearable technology portfolios and contributes to their evolution to a one-stop shop for resellers and retailers, the distributor said.

“We are pleased to expand our investment in the wearable health and fitness category by bringing iRiver to the IT and CE channels,” said Peter Larocque, president of North America, distribution, Synnex. “This unique product line brings new possibilities to a wider demographic of users and creates a new standard for devices that blend fitness, entertainment and functionality in one of the most rapidly growing technology categories in the industry.”

The iRiver On is designed for both men and women users of all ages, offering consistent monitoring of heart rate and biometric information without the discomfort of wearing a chest strap. The iRiver On smartphone app serves as a personal trainer for users and provides a customized, repeatable workout experience with no additional clips, dongles or extra gear, the distributor said.

Owen Kwon, business development VP for iRiver, said, “Our agreement brings together two leaders in technology innovation and delivers the benefits of collaboration to an established and rapidly growing health and fitness customer base.”
