LG V10 Selfie-Friendly Phone With 2 Screens Comes To AT&T, T-Mobile

LG’s V10 smartphone, optimized for multimedia consumption and creation, is coming to the AT&T and T-Mobile networks.

The V10 smartphone features dual front displays, dual front cameras for distortion-free wide-angle selfies, and a manual video mode.

The dual displays consist of a main 5.7-inch QHD 2,560 by 1,440 IPS display below a secondary 2.1-inch 160 by 1,040 display, which can be set to display weather, time, date and battery life when the main display is off. With the main display on, the second screen can be used as a dedicated launching area for shortcuts or favorite apps. The second screen will also notify users of incoming calls or texts without blocking the view of a movie or game.

AT&T is bringing the device to its stores on Nov. 6 in black and blue at $249 with two-year contract, $699 without contract, and with Next no-contract installment/trade-up plans: $23.34/month for 30 months, $29.14 for 24 months, and $35 for 20 months.

T-Mobile is offering the device I stress starting today at $599 without contract or $25/month for 24 months under the JUMP On Demand installment program, which lets users upgrade phones up to three times per year. T-Mobile began offering the device on its website on Oct. 28.

For media consumption and creation, the 6.3-inch-tall Android 5.1.1 phone comes with dual 5-megapixel front cameras to capture wide-angle group selfies up to 120 degrees without distorting the picture at the corners and without a selfie stick. A manual video mode lets users adjust such options as shutter speed, frame rate, ISO, white balance and focus even while recording.

The V10 is touted as the first smartphone to offer manual mode for video. The company’s G4 smartphone was the first to offer manual mode for picture taking.

Videos can be recorded in HD, FullHD or Ultra HD in 16:9 standard or 21:9 cinematic aspect ratios.

The phone also features multiple video-enhancing features, including electronic image stabilization (EIS) optimized for recording video, ability to create  one video by combining many shorter videos, and 15-second  auto edit, which creates a short highlight clip by automatically eliminating blurred frames and static scenes.

LG G Vista 2: Also new at AT&T, the AT&T-exclusive LG Vista 2 will be in AT&T stores Nov. 6 with 5.7-inch full HD IPS display, 1.5GHz octacore processor, 2GB of RAM, 13- and 5-megapixel cameras, 3,000 mAh removable battery and Android 5.1 OS. It replaces the Vista and will be available in gray for $49 with two-year contract. Monthly Next installment-plans charge $14.97, $18.71 and $22.45/month with 30-, 24- and 20-month terms, respectively.
