LG Expands Distribution Of Kid-Tracking Wearable

Englewood Cliffs, N.J. – LG rolled out its GizmoPal GPS-tracking watch phone to Verizon Wireless stores nationwide.

The $79 device, targeted for use by pre- to middle-school kids, can be added to a Verizon subscriber’s existing MORE Everything account for $5/month.

To find their kids, parents install a GizmoPal app on their Android or iOS device. From the GizmoPal itself, kids make and receive phone calls using a single-button-calling feature and an auto-answer feature. To make or answer a call, the child presses a button, speaks into the device’s microphone, and listens through its speaker.

The child can place a call to a primary or secondary caregiver and can receive calls from two additional approved contacts.

The watch also displays time and play’s sound clips.

The device became available in late November on Verizon’s web site.
