Las Vegas - Dell unveiled its latest Android smartphone, the Dell Venue, but won't reveal pricing or availability for a few more weeks.

The Android 2.2-based device will follow the launches last year of the Windows Phone 7 Dell Venue Pro and Android-based Aero and Streak, which features 5-inch screen.

The new model will be available in versions for the T-Mobile and AT&T 3G networks and uses the 7.2/5.76Mbps HSPA 3G standard, the company's web site shows. They will also operate in overseas 2.1GHz HSPA markets.

 The new Venue features 1GHz processor, Adobe Flash 10.1, 4.1-inch 800 by 480 WVGA AMOLED capacitive-multitouch display with curved Corning Gorilla Glass, support for ActiveSync and QuickOffice, and Swype for fast text input on the touchscreen. It lacks a hard QWERTY keyboard.

 It will be available on the Dell web site along with other Dell phones and non-Dell phones.

Other features include an 8-megapixel autofocus camera/camcorder with 4x digital zoom and autofocus, microSD slot supporting 32GB cards, Wi-Fi, assisted GPS, and Bluetooth 2.1 EDR with stereo Bluetooth and AVRCP profile. It weighs 164 grams and comes with 1,400mAh battery.
