BiteMyApple Adds Flash To Phone, Tablet Cameras

New York — Kickstarter retail partner BiteMyApple.co has begun offering a portable flash accessory for smartphone cameras.

The iBlazr connects to the audio jack of any Android or iOS device with a camera and uses four LEDs, supplied by lighting specialist Cree, to illuminate subjects in low lighting. It features a built-in rechargeable 200 mAh battery that delivers more than 1,000 flashes when fully charged, or up to 40 minutes at full power in constant light mode for shooting video, the retailer said. The integrated battery means the device draws no power from the smartphone’s battery.

A free app offers various setting adjustments, including light intensity and adds functionality such as one-touch social networking, photo sharing and technical support.

The positioning of the iBlazr on the phone or tablet is said to eliminate red eye and white eye.

In addition, the iBlazr’s multifunctional USB charger allows it be used as light source for macro shots, a backlight for a keyboard, or as a compact table lamp when not attached to a phone or tablet.

“Smartphones and tablets allow us to take high-quality photos anywhere, but the built-in flash isn’t enough during low-light settings,” said Chris Johnson, founder of BiteMyApple. “The iBlazr provides users with the same illumination capabilities that a high-end camera provides. You can use the small external flash with your front or back camera, so you’ll get the perfect shot or selfie every time.”

The iBlazr is available in black for $49.99 at Bitemyapple.co.
