Dover, N.J. - Casio America said Tuesday it has expanded the company's Green Slim DLP projector line with four models, each offering increased brightness performance.

Models XJ-A255V, XJ-A250, XJ-A155V and XJ-A150 all share Casio's mercury-free, laser and LED Hybrid Light Source technology, and are capable of 3,000 lumens of brightness.

Developed under the company's "clean and green" concept, the new projectors eliminate the need for mercury bulbs with the production of a long-lasting light source.

The projectors target a variety of applications, including business, education, digital signage, home entertainment and gaming, Casio said.

"Casio is proud to build on the Green Slim line of mercury-free projectors with the addition of the 3,000-lumen models," said Frank Romeo, Casio's business projector division VP. "The additions demonstrate the advancements of technology and convey Casio's commitment to establishing the Casio Hybrid Light source as the industry's premier solid state lighting solution."

Two of the models, including the XJ-A255V/XJ-A250, will be available with native WXGA resolution at 1,280 by 800 pixels (16:10).

Models XJ-A155V/XJ-A150 feature XGA (1,024 by 768) resolution.

Models XJ-A255V/XJ-A155V can project JPEG/BMP files (AVI format: Motion JPEG) all without a PC using the included EZ Converter and ArcSoft Media Converter 3 software and commercially available USB memory.

Additional USB-enabled models can project presentations without a PC or communicate wirelessly with PCs.

They communicate wirelessly using an included wireless 802.11b/g/n adapter and can be wirelessly connected with up to 32 Windows computers simultaneously with up to four PCs displayed on screen at one time.

All models are equipped with an HDMI input.

The Green Slim models will be available at A/V dealers and select reseller partners starting in November with suggested retails ranging from $1,499 to $1,799, Casio said.
