Intraphex Kits Add Features To GM Infotainment Screens

Clearwater, Fla. – Intraphex is launching OEM upgrade kits to add features to 4.2-inch, 7-inch, and 8-inch OEM infotainment screens in most GM vehicles.

Various kits add navigation, Android apps, back-up cameras, and A/V inputs to the factory MyLink and IntelliLink systems.

The kits underscore the new direction that the car electronics aftermarket is taking to upgrade factory infotainment systems instead of removing factory touchscreens to add such features as navigation.

“There are a significant number of consumers who love the GM MyLink and IntelliLink screens but wish they had greater functionality,” said senior product manager Don Zaney. Intraphex is the only company offering a complete line of integrated infotainment-screen products for GM, he said.

The lineup consists of the following products:

The PPN-GM11 Prodigy Pro, a black-box kit, ships in September at a suggested $1,299. It provides an Android-like tablet experience to the OEM touchscreen. Users get full use of apps, Internet radio, navigation, weather, news and more. A Wi-Fi hotspot connection is required to access online services. The device features 1.2GHz Cortex A9 processor and Android 4.3 OS.

The $1,699 P1N-GM11, P1N-GM12 and P1N-GM13 solutions, part of the Prodigy ONE line of interfaces, are stand-alone, plug-and-play kits to add GPS navigation and backup camera directly to a GM vehicle’s OEM 7-inch (P1N-GM11), 8-inch (P1N-GM12) or 4.2-inch (P1N-GM13) displays. The solution uses IGO Primo navigation, Nuance voice recognition software, Google-connected search, 3D building imagery, 12-million points of interest and 3D terrain. Voice recognition lets users speak address and waypoint entries for hands-free navigation. All navigation commands and prompts are delivered via the vehicle’s factory audio system.

AT $599, the P1C-GM11 (7-inch) and P1C-GM12 (4.2-inch or 8-Inch) interfaces lets installers add a backup camera and three additional video inputs to select GM models. The solution features on-screen parking assist lines that move side to side with the input of the steering wheel to display the projected path behind the vehicle.

Intraphex also makes aftermarket navigation, rearview-mirror displays and phone-integration solutions.
