ProSource, Audio Vendors Hold Offshore Planning Sessions

ProSource, the industry’s largest A/V specialty and integration buying group, tackled a range of strategic issues with vendors D&M, Harman, Sony and Yamaha during a recent series of audio planning meetings in Asia.

Topics included success drivers, product design and roadmaps, and key merchandising strategies, the group said.

Representing the $4.5 billion dealer organization was the group’s Audio Committee, comprised of a mix of ProSource and affiliate NATM members.

ProSource president/CEO Dave Workman praised the product-team approach, which has been extended to the custom integration and IoT categories.

“The results continue to show the value the committee-planning approach brings,” he said.

Added Stephanie Keough, chief merchant for Philadelphia’s World Wide Stereo, “Our group helps to influence product design through a collaboration with our vendor partners in a dynamic way, together with key subject-matter experts.”

Frank Sterns, Sony’s VP of A/V specialty and custom integration concurred. “We greatly value ProSource’s input on the direction of the North American audio business and appreciate the collaborative nature of our relationship,” he said. “Working together to define the future audio product roadmap and marketing strategy will pay great dividends.”
