Seattle — Buffalo Technology and Mediabolic announced a jointly developed a network media device to work specifically with Microsoft’s upcoming Vista operating system.
Buffalo and Mediabolic’s effort places Microsoft’s Windows Rally Technologies into an upcoming version of Bufflo’s LinkTheater Network Media Player. Windows Rally Technologies enables devices to ease wireless network configuration for consumers by allowing instant recognition between similarly equipped devices. The system then creates a visual map of the home network so the end user has a graphic representation of how all the network devices are interacting.
A ship date and price were not available. Microsoft’s Vista operating system is not expected to be available to consumers until early 2007.
