Phoenix
- MARTA, a division of Brand Source, has been renamed Resource Plus.
Brand Source
said the division's name was changed because it has "evolved its identity to
best fit the needs of their members and the marketplace."
The group said in a statement that the new name and logo
illustrates "the unparalleled collection of member benefits through its
alliance with Brand Source plus the member-to-member sharing of best business
practices that keeps their members poised for growth."
The new tagline, "Providing what matters," touts the group's
focus on the services that make the most difference, including peer networking,
sharing of resources, and exclusive marketing and buying opportunities, Brand
Source said.
"Since our successful alliance with Brand Source nearly
four years ago, our mission has evolved from a focused ‘buying group' to an
organization that offers a much wider range of services to our members.
It is time for us to update our name and identity," said Robert Thompson,
managing director and general manager. "We feel that the name Resource Plus
really summarizes what we stand for, a well-rounded group with the right
resources that benefit each of our members."
"We look forward to furthering our strong partnership with
Resource Plus," said Bob Lawrence, CEO and executive director, Brand
Source. "Many of the Resource Plus members have really supported our key
programs, which has made our overall group stronger than before."
Resource Plus has historically been made up of larger,
independent retailers selling appliances, electronics and furniture while
operating within the Brand Source organization with access to all the benefits of
the buying group.
Brand Source, along with Resource Plus, Home Entertainment Source
and other divisions, is holding its Spring Buying Fair March 27-31 in the Dallas area.
