Ann Arbor, Mich. - Borders expanded its e-book selection to seven models with the addition of the Kobo wireless e-reader today.

Borders is taking pre-orders for the $139 Kobo starting Sept. 29 and the device will be available in Borders' locations at the end of October.

The Kobo e-reader comes in three colors: onyx, porcelain and metallic silver. It has a 6-inch display, weighs 7.8 grams and is les than half an inch thick.

The reader, which is a step up from the original Kobo e-reader, can connect to a PC via Wi-Fi or USB, has 1GB of internal memory capable of holding 1,000 e-books and can read DRM E PUB, PDF and Adobe DRM book file formats.
