New York — Video rental chain Blockbuster Monday named James Keyes as its new chairman and chief executive, replacing CEO John Antioco who resigned following a compensation dispute with the chain’s board of directors.

Keyes was formerly president and CEO of the 7-Eleven convenience store chain.
