New York - Barnes & Noble has updated its Apple iOS app.

The app improves word and image sharpness to take advantage of the Retina display on Apple's latest iPad.

Version 3.1.3 also gives users the flexibility to read in either one or two columns in landscape orientation, and it has an easier-to-use highlight feature, the company said.
