Research and Development, which has a distribution agreement with Audiovox, will
use the show to introduce its upgraded Excalibur remote-start systems. Eight
new models make up the line, including the entry-level RS-240-DP one-button
remote-start system and the deluxe RS-230-DPB with low-temperature detection,
valet switch, status indicators and Blade cartridge support.

technology allows them to be docked directly on the remote starter, eliminating
module-to-module wiring, according to Hircio Barrios, Omega R&D operations
manager. "Using a computer, you can quickly re-flash the Blade cartridge's
firmware, the remote starter's firmware, set the remote starter's programmable
features and basically configure the entire system before picking up any
tools," he noted.
The RS-340-EDP+ deluxe
keyless-entry and remote-start system features extended range remotes with up
to 1,500-foot operating range, metal accents, valet switch and status lights
integrated into the antenna, low-temperature auto start and low-temperature
auto crank adjust.
Omega should be
contacted for pricing.
