LG, Drexler Team Up For Final Four Promos

Englewood Cliffs, N.J. – LG and basketball legend Clyde Drexler have teamed up for the “Do Game Day Right” campaign for the 2014 NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four.

LG, which is entering its fifth year as an NCAA corporate partner, will use Drexler for tailgate activities at the Final Four in North Texas (April 5-7) and help fans “Do Game Day Right” throughout the tournament by offering tips for hosting friends during March Madness games, supplying snack recipes, keeping up with scores on LG G Flex phones through the NCAA March Madness Live app, and setting up “the ultimate viewing experience.”

“Sports offer so many great moments, whether you’re playing in the game or cheering on your team with family and friends,” stated Drexler. “I love that LG is helping fans make the most out of their game day experience, and I’m pleased to share what I’ve learned over the years as a player, coach and commentator.”

LG is also launching a “Locker Room Sweepstakes” that will award one winner with an expenses-paid trip for two to North Texas for the 2014 NCAA Men’s Final Four semi-final and championship games.

Additional prizes include LG products that enhance the game day experience, including 55- and 47-inch smart TVs, G Pads, washers and dryers, and microwave ovens. The sweepstakes runs through March 29.

“LG is committed to helping fans create memorable experiences,” said William Cho, LG president and CEO. “We are honored to be a part of those experiences, whether it’s at the games in Texas, or through the amazing picture quality of our UltraHD TVs and smartphones for fans enjoying the games from home or on the go.”

In 2012, LG extended its original three-year alliance with the NCAA through a new, multiyear agreement. Under its new agreement, negotiated with CBS Sports and Turner Sports, LG will continue as an official NCAA corporate partner and have exclusive category marketing and promotional rights related to all 89 NCAA championship events across 23 different sports, including the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship and NCAA Football Championships.
