Harman, Rivera Team To Help Charity At N.Y. Store

NEW YORK – Harman and future Hall of Fame pitcher Mariano Rivera teamed to help the restoration and renovation of the Iglesia Refugio de Esperanza (“Refuge of Hope”) Church located in New Rochelle, N.Y., during an event at the company’s store in Manhattan on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Rivera and his family have made a commitment to restore the church, which holds traditional religious services, and will also offer youth programs and provide food and clothing to the local community.

Harman, as the “official sound partner of the New York Yankees,” has provided a full professional audio system to the church featuring the latest products from its JBL, Soundcraft, Crown and AKG brands.

“We are extremely proud to help Mariano with the restoration of such an important community center in New Rochelle, just a few miles away from Harman’s headquarters in Connecticut,” said Ralph Santana, chief marketing officer for Harman.

Mariano Rivera Day at Harman’s new flagship store in New York City, located at 527 Madison Avenue (at 54th Street), drew hundreds of fans and during a special ceremony, JBL presented Rivera with a Fan MO-saic that was created by his fans through Instagram.

Fans who used Instagram to show their favorite part of the Harman Store were entered for a chance to win one of 42 custom, limited-edition, Mariano Rivera JBL Synchros S700 headphones (inset), featuring his number, signature and the Yankees logo.
