Samsung Provides Major Experience At PGA Championship

Jimmy Walker may have won the 98th PGA Men’s Golf Championship at Baltusrol Golf Club in New Jersey last weekend, but Samsung, a sponsor of the event, used the venue to provide a full display of its latest consumer technologies during the tournament.

Samsung highlighted its two newest sound bars including the HW-K950, what it called the industry’s first Dolby Atmos sound bar package to include two wireless rear speakers, and the HW-K850, also featuring Dolby Atmos.

The HW-K950 and HW-K850 are available in the U.S. for $1,499 and $999 respectively.

Both sound  bars are the company’s first to offer Dolby Atmos Cinema Sound. The HW-K950 delivers 5.1.4-channel sound, while the flat HW-K850 provides 3.1.2-channel sound.

At the sound room in the Samsung Experience the sound bar package teamed with one of the brands’ large 4K UHD TVs and made the argument that it might be wiser to invest in such equipment and watch sporting events at home rather than attending them live.

The Samsung Experience at the PGA Championship allowed consumers to compare 4K SUHD TV and HDTV side by side, experience virtual reality as well as the Samsung Gear 360 degree camera; and explained the technology behind the company’s Radiant 360 speakers, among a lot more.
