Denver, Colo. - Archos has introduced its G9 tablet series, with the first model becoming available this month.

The G9 tablets use the Android 3.2 operating system and are powered either with a dual-core Texas Instruments OMAP 1GHz processor or the OMAP4 dual-core at 1.5GHz.

The Archos 80 G9 ($299) has an 8-inch screen and features 8GB of memory and 1GHz processor. It will be available for pre-order on Sept. 20 from archos.com and hit retailers including hhgregg, Amazon, Newegg and Tiger Direct on Sept. 30.

All the remaining G9 models will ship in October.

The step-up Archos 80 G9 with 16GB of memory uses the 1.5GHz processor and will be priced at $329. A version sporting a 250GB hard disk drive (HDD) will have a $369 price tag.

This HDD will have 4GB of flash storage included for caching data, which will allow for faster access, the company said.

The 10-inch Archos 101 G9 will come in two variations, both powered by 1.5GHz processors. The first will have 16GB of memory at $399, and the second will have the 250GB HDD and cost $469.
