LG Touts Door-In-Door Fridge At Celebrity Event

Los Angeles – LG Electronics marked the latest addition to its door-in-door refrigerator platform at a celebrity gathering here last night.

Emmy-winning television host and Food Network chef Sandra Lee and celebrity parents Giuliana Rancic, Brooke Burke-Charvet, Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Alysia Reiner joined other VIP guests for the “LG Junior Chef Academy,” an evening filled with family-friendly games and cooking activities recognizing the No Kid Hungry food relief campaign.

The festivities included a variety of family-focused activities ranging from hands-on cooking demonstrations with Lee to decorating personalized chef kits, all designed to encourage families to get creative in the kitchen, LG said.

But the silent star of the event was the company’s newest extension to its door-in-door line of four-door, French-door refrigerators. The door-within-a-door configuration provides an extra storage section between the refrigerator’s door and main compartment for easy access to frequently used item, and limits the loss of cold air by up to 47 percent. It is accessed by pressing a button on the door handle that releases a magnetic seal.

The newest iteration, model LMXS30776S,  adds LG’s CustomChill drawer that can be used as either extra refrigerator or soft freezer space using four different temperature settings. The 30-cubic-foot fridge is Energy Star-certified and is available now through multiple retail channels at a manufacturer’s suggested price of $3,999.

“Many of today’s families live an ‘on-the-go’ lifestyle, so it’s important for them to find ways to come together,” said David VanderWaal, who heads marketing for LG Electronics USA. “LG always looks for ways to facilitate that in the heart of the home, and our kitchen technologies like door-in-door and CustomChill help make it easier.”

LG showcased four door-in-door models in total at the event, and donated the LMXS30776S to one of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank’s partnering organizations. The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank itself is a local partner organization to No Kid Hungry, which is working to end childhood hunger in America by connecting kids in need to effective nutrition programs like school breakfast and summer meals, and teaches low-income families to cook healthy, affordable meals.

“I am so appreciative to LG for their generous support of No Kid Hungry,” said Lee.  “This was a fantastic event to illustrate the importance of spending quality time with family in the kitchen and how kitchen advances like LG’s new refrigerator are great additions to today’s busy households.”
