LG ‘Greens’ Denver Complex For Energy Star Tour

Denver — LG Electronics USA was the lead partner for a stop at the Denver Housing Authority on the Energy Star Change The World Tour over the weekend.

The tour stopped at Denver’s Mulroy Opportunity Center, where it helped replace old appliances and TVs, with modern energy-efficient versions.

LG is an official sponsor of the Change The World Tour, a month-long nationwide effort joining public and private organizations together to make a positive difference in people’s lives through a range of community-service projects focused on energy-efficiency improvements.

The theme of the tour is the Power of Positive Energy.

“Through this tour, our Energy Star program and partners are making a difference in local communities through energy-efficiency service projects that will save money and energy, while cutting harmful pollution and combating climate change,” stated U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy. “EPA is working with private sector organizations and companies to improve the quality of life for families across the country through energy efficiency projects.”

LG is providing energy-efficient home appliances and consumer electronics products for multiple tour stops along the way — from the tour’s Oct. 3 event in the Boston area (Worcester, Mass.) led by National Grid, to the tour’s final stop on Energy Star Day, Oct. 28, involving energy-efficiency upgrades to a Phoenix veteran’s housing facility, through Arizona Public Service.

“LG’s leading role in the tour exemplifies our strong commitment to fighting climate change and promoting environmental sustainability, in large part by providing products with superior energy efficiency,” said William Cho, LG Electronics USA president and CEO. “As a longtime Energy Star partner, we are honored to have the opportunity to once again share our commitment to energy efficiency by joining EPA’s latest effort to harness the Power of Positive Energy across the country. Life’s good when you live green.”

In Denver, LG teamed up with fellow Energy Star partner Xcel Energy Colorado and the DHA to celebrate the completion of a massive energy-efficiency overhaul of more than 3,000 multifamily and single-family homes.

In association with Energy Outreach Colorado and Group 14 Engineering, a number of DHA residents received Energy Star’s Most Efficient 2014 washing machines and HDTVs from LG Electronics.
