LAS VEGAS - Tablet newcomer Stream TV Networks and Korean vendor oCosmos
will come to International CES with a variety of new tablets, as will AOC, the
manufacturer of LCD/LED monitors and HDTVs.
TV Networks will expand its selection of tablets, having launched its first
model late last year. oCosmos will come to the U.S. to show a variety of
tablets and what it calls a mobile PC.
And Fremont, Calif.-based AOC will launch the 8-inch
Android-based Breeze, an ultraportable tablet with an 8-inch touchscreen that
will retail for less than $200 at national retailers, the company said. It will
be displayed at the Bellagio Tower Ballroom 5.
The 1.1-pound Breeze runs the Android 2.1 OS and features 800 by 600-pixel
touchscreen with auto rotation, 4GB of embedded memory, MicroSD card slot, USB
2.0 port, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, Rockchip processor, built-in speaker, standard
headphone jack and microphone. It is preloaded with web browser, video and audio
players, photo browser, email, calendar and e-book apps. Additional apps will
be available through the Android Marketplace, the company said.
The Breeze also features
USB OTG, 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, and 12 hours of audio playback or six
hours of video playback.
At South Hall booth 26533, oCosmos will show such products as the
Windows 7-based OCS9 tablet and an OCS1 handheld mobile PC, shaped like a
smartphone and running Windows 7. Additional details were unavailable.
For its part, Stream TV Networks will follow up last year's
launch of the eLocity
7-inch Android 2.2 tablet at $369 with an expanded eLocity selection
that will include a model with no-glasses 3D display. Details were unavailable.

The tablet launch is the first step in Stream TV's strategic
growth plan to bring to market innovative products featuring state-of-the-art
