Swann Debuts DIY Security DVRs

Santa Fe Springs, Calif. – Swann launched its TrueBlue 4000 series of D1 DVRs for DIY home-security installers.  

The DVRs are offered in four- and eight-channel configurations (models DRV4-4000 and DVR8-4000, respectively) and are meant to be used with the company’s 600TVL indoor/outdoor cameras. Both DVRs feature full-screen resolution using either an HDMI or VGA connection. They can display in the following resolutions: 1,024 by 768, 1,280 by 1,024, 1,280 by 720, and 1,920 by 1080.

Features include the ability to view live or recorded video on a split screen, continuous recording for 30 days, motion detection, and remote viewing functionality via the SwannView app. The app is compatible with Apple, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices.  

The kits are currently available in three configurations:

• DVR4-4000 with four-channel 500GB D1 DVR and four cameras ($549);

• DVR8-4000 with eight-channel 1TB D1 DVR and four cameras ($649); or

• DVR8-4000 with eight-channel 1TB D1 DVR and eight cameras ($749).
