Gateway earlier this month released its back-to-school line of eMachines desktop PCs along with new LCD monitors.
The company also introduced new pricing for its CRT monitors that will see the 17-inch flat-screen model sell for $99 after $50 mail-in rebate.
The three-SKU PC introduction’s flagship piece is the T5230, which is powered by an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ processor. It features a 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE integrated graphics card, 1GB of DDR2 memory (expandable to 2GB), a 250GB 7,200RPM hard drive, multiformat/dual-layer DVD burner and Microsoft Vista Premium. Suggested retail is $449 after $50 mail-in rebate.
The midrange T506, $399 after $50 mail-in rebate, differs only in using an AMD 3800+ processor.
The entry-level T3616 steps down to an AMD Sempron 3600+ processors, 512MB of DDR2 memory (expandable to 2GB) and a 120GB hard drive. Its suggested retail is $349 after $50 mail-in rebate.
The new LCD widescreen monitors are 19 inches and 17 inches with suggested retails of $199 and $169.
All the desktop and monitor models became available starting on June 29.
