Dell Launches FastTrack Program

Dell launched its FastTrack program this month, said to ship preconfigured systems for consumers and small- and medium-businesses from factories the next business day.

Dell said it would track consumers’ orders directly and identify the most-requested laptops. These would then be available for quick delivery.

The current available configurations include the $499 Inspiron 15 with and the $299 Inspiron Mini 10v. Select, preconfigured business-class Dell Latitude laptops are available in about two business days, the company said.

The FastTrack for Business option reportedly lets small- and medium-business owners choose from four Latitude laptop models in seven different configurations.

“The majority of customers will continue to fully configure their Latitude laptops, but we now have an option for those who need mobile solutions quickly for a new employee, before a business trip or when they need a replacement unit fast,” said Erik Dithmer, small- and medium-business VP and general manager, Dell Americas, in a statement.

Dell also announced it has extended its Design Studio customization options to the Inspiron 15. Design Studio is an interactive gallery of original contemporary artwork commissioned exclusively for Dell.com. Consumers can select a design, zoom in on details and read a short bio that explains the artist’s work.

More than 200 options are available, including design options from (Product) Red, which contributes money to The Global Fund to help fight AIDS in Africa.
