ViewSonic Shows HD-Ready Monitor

LAS VEGAS — ViewSonic will unveil at International CES this week a 23-inch LCD display geared for entertainment applications. The VP2330wb is a 23W-inch monitor best suited for showing movies along with video editing. It can show high-definition content in its native 16:9 format, and the product is wide enough to show two Web pages side by side. Screen resolution tops out a 1,920 by 1,200, with an 800:1 contrast ratio and an 8ms refresh rate. The monitor supports 480i, 480p, 720p and 1,080i and comes with analog VGA and digital DVI with high-definition content protection. Pricing and shipping information were not available at press time.

Zyxel Intros WCN-Equipped Router

New York — Zyxel announced the newest addition to its XtremeMIMO line, the X-550 router. The device uses Windows Connect Now technology for set up and installation and it features a USB port to add additional computers and peripherals to the network.

Customizable Flash Drives New From PNY

Las Vegas — PNY will display dozens of flash-memory-based products at International CES this week. These will include hardened USB flash drives for use in harsh environments, flash drives that can be customized by schools and other institutions and the latest version of PNY’s Verto 3D graphics hardware.

8GB Flash Drive From EDGE Tech

Dallas — EDGE Tech has started selling an 8GB USB 2.0 flash drive from its online store. The $599 device is 3.3 inches long by 1 inch wide and just over 0.5 inches high. It weighs 0.5 ounces.
