Austin, Texas — Buffalo Technology has introduced the newest member of its DriveStation line of external hard drive products.

The DriveStation HD-HC500U2 is a 500GB USB 2.0 device that was scheduled to begin shipping May 1. The 500GB version is a 7,200rpm SATA and carries a $449 suggested retail price.

It is bundled with Memeo’s AutoBackup software. The existing DriveStation line is available in 160GB, 250GB, 300GB and 400GB capacities in prices ranging from $159 to $349.
