Cupertino, Calif. - Apple reported today it had sold 1.7 million iPhone 4s in just three days.

The three-day total surpasses that of the iPhone 3G S, which launched on June 19, 2009. That model sold about 1 million units during its first three days of availability.

The latest version of the iPhone went on sale June 24.
