Scott Durchslag, former Expedia Worldwide president, has joined Best Buy as president of its online and global e-commerce operations executive VP. He is Best Buy’s first major hire following the recent appointment of president/ CEO Hubert Joly. Durchslag reports to Stephen Gillett, president of digital, global marketing and strategy, and succeeds John Thompson, who retired from a comparable post after more than a decade with the CE chain. Separately, Best Buy chief financial officer Jim Muehlbauer is leaving the company in January.
