LAS VEGAS — Philips will also be introducing Bluetooth speakers and Lightning-equipped docking speakers during International CES.
The first Bluetooth speaker in the brand’s premium Fidelio series will join a variety of other Philips- branded Bluetooth speakers.
The Fidelio model, shipping in January at a suggested $299, features AC/DC operation, aluminum grille, 2.1-amp USB port to charge smartphones and tablets, and a magnetic leather cover that turns the speaker off when the cover is placed over the grille. It also features built-in microphone for hands-free speakerphone use, and Bluetooth AVRCP lets users control track up/down and play/ pause from the speaker’s front-panel controls.
Details on two Lightning-equipped docking speakers were unavailable. They will join four Lightning-equipped models due to ship last month (December). They are the $129-suggested DS7580 portable AC/DC bar-style speaker, the ring-shaped $129 AC/DC DS3205 Room-to- Room Docking Speaker, the $89 DS 1155 Bedroom Docking Speaker with 360-degree sound dispersion, and the vertically-oriented standmounted DCM2067 Lifestyle Music System with FM/CD player.
