Skullcandy Launches Apple-Only Navigators
PARK CITY, UTAH — Skullcandy launched its Navigator headphones, billed as a more streamlined, lower-profile version of its Roc Nation Aviator model.
The on-ear headphones will be sold exclusively at Apple Stores. Features include in-line mic and controls, leather-touch ear cups, detachable cable, foldable design and a carry case. Pricing wasn’t available.
B&W Bows Updated Finishes For P5, C5
NORTH READING, MASS. — Bowers & Wilkins announced new finishes for its P5 and C5 headphones. The P5 ($299 suggested retail) will be offered in Ivory, while the C5 ($179) will be available in Satin Titanium. Both models will still be offered in their original black colors as well. The P5 will only be sold in Ivory during the holiday season.
RHA Makes U.S. Debut
GLASGOW, SCOTLAND — RHA, a U.K.- based audio company, recently entered the U.S. headphones market. Its in-ear MA450i and on-ear SA950i models will be sold exclusively through Apple Stores.
The MA450i features aluminum 10mm drivers, a fabric braided cord with in-line mic and controls, seven sets of rubber ear tips, and a choice of black or white color. Frequency range is listed at 16Hz to 22kHz with impedance of 16 ohms. Availability was scheduled for mid-October for a $49.95 suggested retail.
The SA950i ($59.95, end of October) has 40mm drivers, contour-forming ear cups, chrome sliders, and a fabric braided cord with in-line remote. Frequency range is listed at 16Hz to 22kHz with impedance of 32 ohms.
Monster Diversifies Headphones Designs
NEW YORK – Monster added a white, onear version of its Diesel Noise Division Vektr headphones, joining the current black model. Also new are a wider range of interchangeable colored headbands for the company’s over-the-ear Inspiration headphones. In addition to the original options of titanium, white and black, new colors available for purchase separately include silver, Raptor Silver, Expression, Expression Silver, Waxed Denim, navy, dark brown and Tomato.
Monster has also added a Black Diamond version of its Diamond Tears - Edge headphones, created in alliance with music producer J.Y. Park, founder of JYP Entertainment. They retail for $350.
