SANTA FE SPRINGS, CALIF. – DIY security supplier Swann introduced its Doorphone 870, a color video camera/ doorbell system. The 870 has a 3.5-inch LCD screen that provides a 60-degree viewing angle for monitoring the entrance to a home with color video and two-way audio communication when the doorbell button is pushed. The camera features night and low-light viewing up to 13 feet. It mounts easily to a door, the company said, and runs off a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery. The Doorphone 870 system ships with the outdoor camera, LCD monitor, mounting brackets, screws and hardware, operating instructions and four theft-deterrent stickers for an added level of home protection. It is available for a suggested retail of $149 at Amazon, Fry’s, TigerDirect and B&H Photo Video.
