Eastern Marketing’s Friedman Pens Tome

ROSELAND, N.J. – Marty Friedman, who built and led luxury majap distributor Eastern Marketing, has penned an inspirational autobiography titled “You Can Too.” The memoir, available on Amazon.com, recounts his rise from meager beginnings, provides a recent history of the U.S. white-goods industry, and offers Friedman’s life lessons for business. Said P.C. Richard president Gregg Richard of the tome: “He’s a legend in the industry. Marty reminds me of my grandfather, A.J. Richard, in the way his life became his business.”

Haier Fridges Called ‘Best Buys’

NEW YORK – Two refrigerators from Haier America were named “Best Buys” by Consumer Reports based on criteria including temperature control and convenience features.

Haier’s 20.7-cubic-foot HT21TS77SP and 18.2-cubic- foot HT18TS77SP top mount fridges are both Energy Star-qualified and feature three-level lighting using daylight bulbs; split and sturdy spill-proof glass shelves; and other options to help consumers compartmentalize the contents.

“Haier stands honored to be recognized as a Best Buy again this year,” after the publication similarly cited the company’s wine cooler, said refrigeration group VP Chuck Bryant. “We see this continued recognition as an indication of what consumers can assuredly expect from us as a leading refrigeration brand.”
