March Majap Shipments Up 11%: AHAM
WASHINGTON – Factory shipments of major appliances surged 11 percent in March, to 7.3 million units. According to data from the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM), every major product sector showed growth, with laundry pairs up 5.1 percent, refrigerators up 5.4 percent, cooking products up 8.9 percent, dishwashers up 14.1 percent, and ACs up 23.9 percent.
Spring K/BIS Goes Out With A Whisper
NEW ORLEANS – The last springtime Kitchen/ Bath Industry Show (K/BIS) ended here quietly last month for the major appliance industry. Whitegoods exhibitors and buyers largely stayed away as they had for the past several years, leaving the show floor to a handful of majap vendors, including Air King, InSinkErator, Kalamazoo, Liebherr and ProHoods. For the next three years beginning in February K/BIS will be held concurrently with the International Builders’ Show (IBS) at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
