DoMark Plans Phone, Tablet Photo Printer

TORONTO — Smartphone and tablet accessories supplier DoMark International is planning to bring to market a wireless cartridge printer for photos taken by a portable device.

The Imagic cartridge printer will allow durable fade-free photos to be printed from any smartphone or tablet simply by connecting wirelessly and printing, without the use of dye ribbons, ink or sheets of chemically treated paper, the company said.

A plug-in renewable paper cartridge will offer 20 6-inch by 4-inch postcard-sized prints of “100 percent digital reproduction quality,” according to the company. The cartridge is designed to be simple to replace and will be available online and at retail.

DoMark believes the Imagic printer can fill an important gap in the market by providing a combination of immediacy, quality, privacy and ease of use not delivered by PC desktop home printer or local store options.

Currently in beta development, the printer is slated for shipping in early 2014.

DoMark also markets the Zaktek PhonePad+, a tablet display smartphone dock; the Imagic Smartlink pocket transmitter; the Imagic games controller for smartphones; and the Solawerks IR charger case.
