LAS VEGAS – Two of the appliance industry’s biggest trade events, the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and the International Builders’ Show (IBS), are running together for the first time this week at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
While the combination still hasn’t restored the shows to their past majap preeminence, a contingent of top manufacturers including Electrolux, Bosch/Thermador, Viking and LG Electronics will have a major presence at the newly named Design & Construction week.
Other leading players like Whirlpool, GE and Samsung continue to sit out the shows in lieu of presentations at the International Consumer Electronics Show, or private previews in corporate showrooms or off-site hotels. Whether the industry will eventually return to a single venue as its primary showcase remains to be seen.
