The Managing Director of Sales, West position will be responsible for all Peerless business as it pertains to Professional and retail channel business. The Managing Director of Sales will need to successfully liaise with all other sales directors and corporate to maximize sales opportunities. The Managing Director of Sales will have significant input regarding personnel recommendations, including the addition or removal of staff. The development and elevation of sales personnel is a primary objective of this position second only to sales results.

 

This position is based at our corporate headquarters in Aurora, Illinois.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing a comprehensive business plan to encompass all areas of Peerless business
  • Overseeing the development of regional business plans and ensuring they are current, relevant and maintained
  • Utilizing Field Coaching Assessments and tools to develop Zone team members
  • Monitoring and reporting on field sales behavior, activity and results
  • Reviewing sales personnel job performance and resolving related issues
  • Review and improve sales call rotation, customer selection and resource allocation.
  • Observing and improving Sales and Marketing entry and information captured
  • Monitoring competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with all Elite customers within the zone
  • Consistently reviewing market trends and making recommendations to Corporate regarding strategy
  • Conducting zone meetings and running the zone component of the National Sales Meeting
  • Supporting and conducting market research activity as required
  • Maintaining professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies
  • Other duties as assigned

 

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • Minimum of five years in a sales management capacity
  • Ability to design and implement comprehensive business plans
  • Excellent communication/listening/writing skills
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Ability to develop personnel
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
