Sungale pulled back the curtain on its summer digital frame lineup last week. The company plans to double the number of models offered and add Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and larger screen sizes to the mix.
At the entry level, the firm will position a new 5.6-inch frame (the CP6C) at a suggested $79. The company had previously offered a 7-inch frame as its entry piece but said it switched to a smaller size to properly display standard digital images (the 7-inch model cropped standard 4:3 ratio photos to fit the frame's 16:9 screen).
The new model supports the popular memory card formats and video and MP3 playback through built-in speakers. It features a VGA resolution screen with a 450:1 contrast ratio.
Sungale also added Bluetooth capability to the 8-inch AA8F-B. The frame features 512MB of internal memory, card slots, and an 800 by 600 pixel screen with a 500:1 contrast ratio. The model also includes MP3 playback, calendar, clock and an alarm function.
The AA8F-B is expected to retail for $229.
The company will ship a 10-inch and 15-inch digital frame with Bluetooth frame later in the summer.
The firm's first standard 15-inch model will be the AA15M for a suggested $399. It offers a screen resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels and can playback MP3 files and several digital movie formats. It supports the popular memory card formats and features a calendar, clock and alarm functions
In August, Sungale will release a 15-inch frame with Wi-Fi.
