Canon To Show New PowerShot A-Series Cams

LAS VEGAS — Canon USA is unveiling at International
CES this week new models in its popular PowerShot A
series of point-and-shoot digicams.
Among the four new offerings is the PowerShot A3300
IS, A2200, A1200 and A800 cameras.
The PowerShot A3300 IS offers a range of creative features,
including Creative Filters, Discreet Scene Mode, Live
View Control, easy-to-use mode dial and larger buttons.
Key features include 16-megapixel resolution, a 5x wideangle
(28mm) optical zoom and optical image stabilizer,
720p HD video capture, a 3-inch LCD, lithium-ion battery,
Smart Auto with 32 predefined shooting situations, and a
new Discreet scene mode for shots.
The PowerShot A2200 also offers creative features,
Smart Auto, and 720p HD video, but steps down to 14.1
megapixels, a 2.7-inch LCD and a 4x wide-angle (28mm)
optical zoom and optical image stabilizer.
The PowerShot A1200 has creative features, 720p HD
video, and Smart Auto, but steps down to 12.1 megapixels,
a 4x wide-angle optical zoom, AA alkaline batteries,
an optical viewfinder and a 2.7-inch LCD.
The PowerShot A800 offers Smart Auto with 19 predefined
shooting situations, AA alkaline batteries, 10
megapixels, a 3.3x optical zoom, scene modes and a 2.5-
inch LCD.
