Under Armour’s Kevin Plank Under Fire

Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank has gotten off on the wrong foot with 2017. Following a well-received keynote at CES last month with celebrity guest Michael Phelps (left), he has, in quick succession: reported disappointing Q4 sales, triggering a stock selloff; praised President Trump as “bold” and “decisive,” triggering a backlash by celebrity endorsers like the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry, renowned ballet dancer Misty Copeland and actor and former pro wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson; and is now being hit with a class-action lawsuit accusing him of deceiving shareholders.

“Under Armour has had a rough 2017. First, the company reported a marked decline in revenue growth over the fourth quarter of 2016, missing its targets and causing the company’s stock to plummet.”
