Steve Mnuchin Leaves Sears’ Board For Trump Cabinet Post

Billionaire investor Steven Mnuchin has stepped down from Sears Holdings’ board of directors after 11 years to pursue his pending nomination as treasury secretary under President-elect Donald Trump. He had previously joined Kmart’s board in 2003.

“Days after news surfaced that President-elect Donald Trump is considering former Goldman Sachs executive Steven Mnuchin for treasury secretary, Mnuchin says he is stepping down from Sears Holdings’ board of directors. The move is effective immediately, and reduces Sears Holdings’ directors to nine, according to a news release.”
