Pirch Enters New York Metro Market

Pirch, the San Diego-based luxury majap and plumbing chain, opened its eighth showroom nationwide and its first in the Northeast, next door to Neiman Marcus in the ritzy Garden State Plaza mall in Paramus, N.J.

A full-time culinary team is on hand for cooking and product demonstrations.

Pirch rotates its featured ranges. Seen here, Miele's debut 48-inch Generation 6000 model, marking its entry into the category.

The showroom, at 20,000-square-feet, is smaller than the chain's typical 27,000-30,000-square-foot footprint, but still features live displays and branded vignettes. The space was still under construction during this pre-opening visit.

The showroom features a live wall of shower heads that are controlled from an iPad, plus privacy curtains and towels for personal demos.

Pirch marketing director Maria Meeuwisse says the company will open a store in Manhattan's SoHo district next year.

Signage, both interactive and fixed, is located throughout the showroom to provide floor directions, product info, pricing, and life-affirming aphorisms and anecdotes.
